Recap: Lee Williams Volunteers vs. Flagstaff Eagles
The Lee Williams Volunteers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They breezed by Flagstaff on the road to the tune of 58-13. The result was nothing new for Lee Williams, who have now won five matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Noah Petrauschke was a one-man wrecking crew for Lee Williams as he threw for 301 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Kruz Yocum was another key contributor, gaining 156 total yards and two touchdowns.
Lee Williams' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Bryson Vaughn and his two sacks.
Lee Williams' victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Flagstaff, their loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lee Williams will square off against Mingus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mingus and Lee Williams are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Flagstaff, they will head out on the road to face off against Bradshaw Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
