Soccer Game Preview: Paramount vs. Warren

The Paramount Pirates will face off against the Warren Bears at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Paramount's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Bellflower with a sharp 3-0 victory. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 432nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Warren had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Buccaneers 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for the Bears as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Warren is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those eight matchups. As for Paramount, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5-1.
