It was a good run, but Russell County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 5-2 to the Rehobeth Rebels. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Colton Armstrong made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Russell County's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-11. As for Rehobeth, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8.

When Russell County and Rehobeth next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Warriors will try to stop Troup County's nine-game winning streak when they meet at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Rehobeth will square off against Long and their five-game winning streak at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rehobeth 3.3, Long 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
