Softball Game Preview: Eastland Cougars vs. Morrison Mustangs

The Eastland Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Morrison Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Eastland took on River Ridge/Scales Mound on Monday. The Cougars fell 6-1 to the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Morrison got themselves on the board against Amboy on Tuesday, but Amboy never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Clippers with a sharp 10-0 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

Elle Milnes was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiyah Wolber, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Morrison has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Eastland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Eastland beat Morrison 5-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
