Rice Lake gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They snuck past the D.C. Everest Evergreens with a 30-25 victory. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Evergreens, too.

When it comes to explaining why D.C. Everest lost, don't look at Corbin Enzenroth. Despite the final result, he rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown, and also caught one score.

Rice Lake has already played their next game, a 30-14 win against Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln on the 28th. As for D.C. Everest, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-21 defeat against River Falls on the 28th.
