Baseball Recap: Eagle Takes a Loss

Eagle fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Rocky Mountain on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 3-2. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Caleb Zawadzki spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eagle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dallin Snooks, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Snooks launched this season.

Eagle's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Rocky Mountain, their record is now 10-4.

Coming up, Eagle will challenge Timberline at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Rocky Mountain, they will take on Kuna at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Kavemen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.54 runs per game on average), something the Grizzlies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
