Baseball Recap: Decatur Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

While Decatur's victory against Castleberry wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Decatur Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Castleberry Lions on Friday, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 9, 2024.

Jed Ross was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Decatur: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 7-11-1 otherwise. Hayden Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Decatur's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12-1. As for Castleberry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4-1.

Coming up, Decatur will head out on the road to take on Boyd at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Castleberry, they will square off against Lake Worth at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
