Basketball Recap: Isaah Kirvan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carson City-Crystal over Vestaburg

Carson City-Crystal fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Vestaburg on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 63-52 to the Vestaburg Wolverines. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-25 back in December of 2024.

Carson City-Crystal's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaah Kirvan, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Kirvan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Smith, who posted 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Carson City-Crystal is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11. As for Vestaburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Carson City-Crystal is taking a road trip to face off against Sacred Heart Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vestaburg has already played their next game (against Marion), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
