Football Recap: Saranac's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Saranac dropped to 5-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost to the Peru Nighthawks on the road by a 41-25 margin. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Nighthawks from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Peru, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.1 points over those games.

Peru was led to victory by Brody Blaise-Smith and Jake Frechette. Blaise-Smith rushed for 166 yards and three scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, while Frechette threw for 179 yards and three TDs on only ten passes. With that strong performance, Blaise-Smith is now averaging an impressive 101 rushing yards per game.

Saranac does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Peru, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Beekmantown at 6:00 p.m. on November 7.
