Softball Recap: Harbor Teacher Has No Trouble Against Animo Venice

On Friday, the Harbor Teacher Monarchs made easy work of the Animo Venice Pirates and carried off a 14-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs.

Harbor Teacher let Briana Alagba and Lexi Cetina run wild. Alagba fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4, while Cetina went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave Alagba a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Candice Gutierrez, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.

Harbor Teacher's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Animo Venice, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2.

Harbor Teacher will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Orthopaedic at 4:00 p.m. on March 14th. As for Animo Venice, they are taking a road trip to challenge University at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
