Softball Game Preview: Sugar Valley Rural Phoenix vs. Montgomery Red Raiders

Sugar Valley Rural is 0-7 against Montgomery since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. Sugar Valley Rural will venture away from home to challenge Montgomery at 4:30 p.m.

Sugar Valley Rural can't be to happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Thursday. They came up short against Bucktail, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Montgomery gave up the first runs last Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Halifax 10-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Raiders.

The team relied heavily on Zoe Furman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Madisyn Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Sugar Valley Rural might still be hurting after the 15-3 loss they got from Montgomery when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Sugar Valley Rural avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
