Chaparral relied on the efforts of Shay Roddy, who had 21 digs and three aces, and Maya Raza, who had five digs and two aces. Roddy has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 11 times she's played.
Meanwhile, Murrieta Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Vista Murrieta on Thursday, taking the game 3-1.
Murrieta Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-14.
Chaparral's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Murrieta Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 16-11.
