Softball Recap: South Side Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

On Tuesday, the South Side Hornet didn't have quite enough to beat the Atkins Red Devils and fell 7-5.

South Side's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Atkins, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Side will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Heber Springs at 5:00 p.m. on March 31st. As for Atkins, they will square off against Hector at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hector's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
