Basketball Game Preview: Fortuna Huskies vs. Del Norte Warriors

The Fortuna Huskies will face off against the Del Norte Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Fortuna is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since December 7, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Eureka by a score of 60-57. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 665th, while the Loggers are ranked 259th).

Meanwhile, Del Norte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-52 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Bernard's.

Del Norte's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Fortuna, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Fortuna took their victory against Del Norte in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 64-43. Will Fortuna repeat their success, or does Del Norte have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
