Football Game Preview: Mooreville Troopers vs. Houston Hilltoppers

The Mooreville Troopers will square off against the Houston Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mooreville will be strutting in after a win while Houston will be coming in after a defeat.

Mooreville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 48-0 victory over Alcorn Central. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Mooreville's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tatum Blankenship, who rushed for 66 yards and two scores. Kason Mathis was another key back, rushing for 94 yards and one TD on only five carries.

Meanwhile, Houston played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 35-14 to Itawamba Agricultural. The Hilltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mooreville will have to contain Braylin Rogers as he made an impact in Houston's last game. He rushed for 108 yards, and also threw for 141 yards and one touchdown.

Houston's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Mooreville, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
