Recap: Tipton Cardinals vs. Smithton Tigers
The Tipton Cardinals's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down Smithton 69-52. Given Tipton's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Smithton is ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Zach Moon went supernova for Tipton, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Moon continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Lucas Cashman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Tipton pushed their record up to 16-8 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points per game. As for Smithton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.
Tipton will be playing at home against Stover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stover has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Smithton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-44 win vs. Otterville on the 10th.
