Porter-Gaud is a perfect 10-0 against First Baptist School since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cyclones will head out to square off against the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Porter-Gaud has eight straight victories, First Baptist School has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Porter-Gaud can't be too worried about heading out to take on First Baptist School: they just beat Palmetto Christian Academy at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Cyclones walked away with a 3-1 win over Palmetto Christian Academy on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Cyclones' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The victory didn't come easy: Palmetto Christian Academy scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 25-19, 25-19.

Meanwhile, First Baptist School came up short against Cathedral Academy on Monday, falling 3-0.

First Baptist School was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-16.

Porter-Gaud's win bumped their record up to 18-12. As for First Baptist School, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Porter-Gaud took their victory against First Baptist School in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cyclones since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
