Preview: Horizon Prep Lions vs. Mountain Empire Redhawks
After two games on the road, Horizon Prep is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Mountain Empire Redhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Horizon Prep's 18-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a serious blow against Ocean View Christian on Thursday, falling 56-11. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Horizon Prep has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Mountain Empire earned a 37-29 win over Ocean View Christian on Wednesday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain Empire to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maximo Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Sepulveda, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Horizon Prep bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mountain Empire, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Horizon Prep took their win against Mountain Empire in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 58-34. Will Horizon Prep repeat their success, or does Mountain Empire have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
