The Cornerstone Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Southern Christian Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cornerstone Christian will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
Cornerstone Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Pineview Christian on Tuesday as they made off with a 22-9 win. Considering the Eagles have won five games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Colby Harrison made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-6. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gage Donaldson and Owen Meadows did most of the damage at the plate: Donaldson scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances, while Meadows scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Meadows a new career-high. Holden Reese was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.
Cornerstone Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .343 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Southern Christian hadn't done well against Wiregrass recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Kings.
Like Cornerstone Christian, Southern Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Trey Chamberlin. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Chamberlin is becoming a predictor of Southern Christian's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Chamberlin was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Chamberlin wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Pender, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Cornerstone Christian pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.1 runs over those games. As for Southern Christian, their record is now 8-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cornerstone Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Southern Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
