Baseball Recap: Fairview Find Success

Fairview won the last time they faced Horizon and things went their way on Friday too. The Knights walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Hawks. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Finlay Boydston looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Espiritu-Niswonger, who went 3-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Fairview is 7-1 when Espiritu-Niswonger posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Isaac Waymire also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Fairview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.

Fairview's record is now 13-9. As for Horizon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.

Coming up, Fairview will be playing at home against Rock Canyon at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Horizon, they will host Douglas County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
