Basketball Recap: Maconaquah's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

With a playoff win on the line, Maconaquah rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Northwestern Tigers with a sharp 74-49 victory. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Maconaquah's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Ball, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Ball has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was AJ Kelly, who went 9-for-13 on his way to 19 points and five steals.

Maconaquah was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are 17-2 when they've passed the ball that well.

The victory (which was Maconaquah's sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-5. As for Northwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Coming up, Maconaquah won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Logansport at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Maconaquah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Logansport likes a good challenge. Northwestern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
