Baseball Game Preview: Scranton Prep Cavaliers vs. Wallenpaupack Area Buckhorns

The Scranton Prep Cavaliers will square off against the Wallenpaupack Area Buckhorns at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Scranton Prep is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Scranton Prep fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against West Scranton on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Invaders by a score of 10-9. That's two games in a row now that the Cavaliers have lost by just one run.

Paul Rusincovitch made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Johnny Petrosky was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Abington Heights hit Wallenpaupack Area with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Buckhorns lost 14-4 to the Comets. The Buckhorns have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Logan Caruso and Mark Nilsen did some serious damage despite the final result: Caruso went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Nilsen went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Wallenpaupack Area's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Scranton Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
