Volleyball Recap: Sarasota Military Academy Starts Season with Win at Home

Sarasota Military Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They skirted past Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Sarasota Military Academy has posted since August 29, 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (111-103) Sarasota Military Academy actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 27-25, 15-25, 19-25, 15-11.

Sarasota Military Academy found their leader in freshman Paytyn Lewis, who had 20 digs and three aces.

As for Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Classical Academy of Sarasota at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
