Volleyball Recap: Troy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Troy and Doniphan West have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Trojans fell 2-0 to the Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Troy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-21.

Harper Whetstine paced Troy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Whetstine got some help from Alyson Grable and her ten assists.

Troy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Doniphan West, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Troy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] on the 11th. As for Doniphan West, they will take on Linn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
