Basketball Game Preview: Ansley/Litchfield Spartans vs. Loomis Wolves

The Ansley/Litchfield Spartans will challenge the Loomis Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ansley/Litchfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

Ansley/Litchfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Sumner-Eddyville-Miller with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 53-38. The Spartans pushed the score to 47-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs cut but never quite recovered from.

Ansley/Litchfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caydence Feldman, who posted 15 points and six assists. The dominant performance gave Feldman a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerry M Ryan, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Ansley/Litchfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Loomis came into Thursday's contest having lost 15 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They claimed a resounding 60-33 victory over Gibbon. The score was close at the half, but the Wolves pulled away in the second half with 35 points.

Loomis' win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16. As for Ansley/Litchfield, their record now sits at 6-12.

Ansley/Litchfield beat Loomis 42-32 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Ansley/Litchfield repeat their success, or does Loomis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
