Basketball Recap: Garrett Memorial Christian Takes a Loss

Garrett Memorial Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Christian Ministries Academy Conquerors 69-21. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-13.

Christian Ministries Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Hicks out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. Hicks is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Robertson, who went 8 for 9 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds.

Garrett Memorial Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Christian Ministries Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Garrett Memorial Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Magnet Cove at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. As for Christian Ministries Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-40 victory against Trinity Christian on the 6th.
