Basketball Recap: Charlotte Elite Academy Comes Up Short

Charlotte Elite Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions on the road by a 63-49 margin. The Soldiers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stallions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Greater Cabarrus S got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier DeLeeuw out in front who posted 15 points. DeLeeuw continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Arrowood, who put up 15 points.

Charlotte Elite Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Greater Cabarrus S, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9.

Looking ahead, Charlotte Elite Academy will welcome Lab University Prep Regional at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greater Cabarrus S, they will head out on the road to challenge Christ the King at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
