Softball Recap: University City Comes Up Short

University City lost against Mira Mesa back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Centurions took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marauders. The Centurions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

University City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addyson Weathers, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

University City's record now sits at 5-11-1. As for Mira Mesa, they pushed their record up to 6-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University City will challenge Canyon Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rattlers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Centurions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mira Mesa, they will be taking part in a tournament against West Hills at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
