Basketball Recap: Moravian Prep Regional Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Moravian Prep Regional, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 win over the Lab University Prep Regional Kings on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Kings back in December of 2024, they had to take a 82-77 defeat.

Lab University Prep Regional's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jalyn Connor, who went 7 of 12 en route to 17 points. Connor's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was James Wood, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points.

Moravian Prep Regional's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Lab University Prep Regional, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.

Moravian Prep Regional will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oak Hill Academy Red at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. As for Lab University Prep Regional, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-65 loss against Winston Salem Christian on the 1st.
