Baseball Recap: Fairfield Indians vs. Lakota West Firebirds
After losing to Lakota West the last time they met, Fairfield decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Indians walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Firebirds on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won four games in a row.

Fairfield got a great performance from Alex Brehm as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave Brehm a new career-high.
At the plate, Brody O'Connor was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Candella, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Fairfield's record is now 9-3. As for Lakota West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
Fairfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Firebirds: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
