Softball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen West Find Success

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Morristown-Hamblen West and Morristown-Hamblen East had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Trojans came out on top against the Hurricanes by a score of 8-5 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now won seven in a row.

Briony Bunsic was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Bunsic wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eva Boudier, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Those two runs gave Boudier a new career-high.

The win got Morristown-Hamblen West back to even at 10-10. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11-1.

As of now, neither Morristown-Hamblen West nor the Hurricanes have any future games scheduled.
