Softball Recap: Boyertown Wins Going Away Against Plymouth Whitemarsh

After losing to Plymouth Whitemarsh the last time they met, Boyertown decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went the Boyertown Bears' way against the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials on Monday as the Boyertown Bears made off with a 13-3 victory. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by exactly ten runs.

Kyra Neiswender made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Neiswender was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Rielynn Carey and Lindsay Mathias did most of the damage at the plate: Carey went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Mathias fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Hailey Schildt was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Boyertown now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boyertown will host Quakertown at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, they will be playing at home against Perkiomen Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Plymouth Whitemarsh has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
