Marquette waltzed into their matchup on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They came out on top against the Northwest Lions by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Noah Landewe paced Marquette's offense, picking up nine kills. Landewe got some help from Alex Danyluck and his 20 assists. Danyluck was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Marquette's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Northwest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-1 record this season.

Marquette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Rockwood Summit on the 11th. As for Northwest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Eureka on the 11th.
