Softball Game Preview: Buffalo Grove Bison vs. Grayslake Central Rams

The Buffalo Grove Bison will head out to face off against the Grayslake Central Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Buffalo Grove turned things around against Rolling Meadows on Friday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 5-2.

Erin Ryan was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenna Wagner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Buffalo Grove hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rolling Meadows struck out six times.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Grayslake Central and Grant Community had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rams blew past the Bulldogs 16-6 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Autumn Aliff, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Cameron Marshall was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Buffalo Grove's record now sits at 11-14. As for Grayslake Central, their record is now 11-12.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Buffalo Grove hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Grayslake Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.3 home runs.
