Softball Recap: Caruthers Wins Going Away Against Mendota

Caruthers never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Mendota on Wednesday. They blew past the Aztecs 19-0. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Raiders in their matchups with the Aztecs: they've now won six in a row.

Caruthers got a massive performance out of Madison Gamboa, who scored four runs while going 5-for-5. Those four runs gave Gamboa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmi Almeida, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

The win got Caruthers back to even at 1-1. As for Mendota, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Caruthers didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Yosemite on the 21st. Mendota has also already played their next match (against Corcoran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
