Baseball Game Preview: Corning Bobcats vs. Marmaduke Greyhounds

The Corning Bobcats will venture away from home to face off against the Marmaduke Greyhounds at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Corning is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Riverside just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 13-1 to the Rebels. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bobcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Marmaduke was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against East Poinsett County, falling 15-0.

Corning's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Marmaduke, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Corning took their win against Marmaduke when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
