Softball Recap: Lakewood Takes a Loss

Lakewood fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Woodrow Wilson on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 back in March.

Lakewood has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Woodrow Wilson, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lakewood will challenge rival Cabrillo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Woodrow Wilson is set to take on their familiar foe Millikan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
