Basketball Preview: Kittson Central Bearcats vs. Badger/Greenbush-Middle River Gators

The Kittson Central Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the Badger/Greenbush-Middle River Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Kittson Central pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goodridge/Grygla. Kittson Central has not had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Badger/Greenbush-Middle River's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 72-34 defeat at the hands of Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County]. While losing is never fun, Badger/Greenbush-Middle River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Northern Freeze are ranked 197th).

Kittson Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Badger/Greenbush-Middle River, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Kittson Central strolled past the Gators when the teams last played back in January by a score of 73-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kittson Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
