After a string of 11 wins, Maple Hill's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Chatham Panthers by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Maple Hill's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Chatham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Maple Hill will square off against rival Coxsackie-Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 4, the Riverhawks 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Chatham is set to challenge their familiar foe Watervliet at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
