Football Recap: Payette Comes Up Short

Payette extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They were beaten by the Cole Valley Christian Chargers 55-7. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since August 30, 2019, but that streak is no more.

As for Cole Valley Christian, the win got them back to even at 4-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cole Valley Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Sulahian, who rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Sulahian a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Van Boven, who threw for 243 yards and a pair of TDs on only 16 passes.

Payette wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 50-13 loss against Weiser on the 24th. As for Cole Valley Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 70-26 defeat against Homedale on the 24th.
