Basketball Recap: North Montgomery Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Montgomery had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 45-36 victory over the Western Boone Stars. This was a revenge game for the Chargin' Chargers: when they faced off against the Stars last Friday, they had to take a 37-34 defeat.

It was another big night for Piper Ramey, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. She has become a key player for North Montgomery: the team is 12-4 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 4-5 otherwise. Lilly Graham was another key player, putting up nine points.

Western Boone's loss came despite strong showings from Ally Lewis and Olivia Reagan. Lewis posted 18 points and six boards, while Reagan earned 13 points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for North Montgomery and bumps their season record up to 16-9. As for Western Boone, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

North Montgomery wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-26 loss against Rensselaer Central on the 8th. Western Boone does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
