Softball Recap: Indian Hill Braves vs. Reading Blue Devils
Indian Hill lost against Reading last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Braves fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 7-6. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rebekah Burroughs was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Zoey Glenn was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaydance Givens, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases.
Indian Hill now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Reading, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Indian Hill will host Madeira at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Reading, they will be playing at home against Mercy McAuley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
