Baseball Recap: Legacy Charter Wins Going Away Against Altamonte Christian

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Legacy Charter blew past Altamonte Christian 16-3. That's more bragging rights for Legacy Charter, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kevin Barnard looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out six over four innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gaven Arana, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Jake Threadgill was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Legacy Charter and bumps their season record up to 5-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Altamonte Christian, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Legacy Charter will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Cornerstone Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for Altamonte Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central Florida Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on April 7.
