Soccer Recap: Smithville Takes a Loss

Smithville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Salado Eagles, falling 11-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 631st, while the Eagles are ranked 209th).

Smithville's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Salado, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smithville will square off against Manor New Tech at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Manor New Tech will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Smithville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Salado, they will venture away from home to face off against La Grange at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Salado is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.
