After a string of eight wins, Indian Creek's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mooresville Pioneers by a score of 52-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Braves have suffered since December 6, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Indian Creek lost, don't look at Ayla Lollar. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 12 en route to 29 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Lollar a new career-high in points. Alexa Sichting was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 16 boards.

Even though they lost, Indian Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mooresville only posted seven assists.

Leading Mooresville to victory were Ava Shafer and Randee Garringer. Shafer posted 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Garringer dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Garringer is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Price, who earned seven points.

Indian Creek's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-5. As for Mooresville, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Indian Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 42-21 defeat against Batesville on the 17th. Mooresville has also already played their next contest, a 52-34 loss against Bloomington South on the 16th.
