Basketball Recap: Jordan Skates Past Wake Forest with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jordan). They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 59-24 victory over the Wake Forest Cougars. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 24 points or more this season.

Jordan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Yancey out in front who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie-Ange Batta, who put up 13 points.

Despite the defeat, Wake Forest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hadley Chang earned seven points.

The victory was the third in a row for Jordan, bringing their record for this year to 5-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for Wake Forest, they moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Jordan and Wake Forest will both be playing Leesville Road the next time they take the court. Jordan will host Leesville Road at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Wake Forest will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
