Basketball Game Preview: Mount Horeb Vikings vs. Milton Red Hawks

The Mount Horeb Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Milton Red Hawks at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Thursday, Mount Horeb was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-54 to Lakeside Lutheran. The Vikings have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Milton was able to grind out a solid win over Fort Atkinson last Friday, taking the game 53-40. Given the Red Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Blackhawks are ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mount Horeb's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Milton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.

Mount Horeb took their win against Milton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 61-41. Will Mount Horeb repeat their success, or does Milton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
