Basketball Game Preview: University Titans vs. Winter Springs Bears

The University Titans will challenge the Winter Springs Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. University is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

University will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Father Lopez, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. University came out on top against Father Lopez by a score of 45-35 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Winter Springs hadn't done well against Oviedo recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Winter Springs managed a 42-37 win over Oviedo. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Lions are ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

University pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Winter Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

University took a serious blow against Winter Springs in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 53-25. Can University avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
