Baseball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They came up short against the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors, falling 27-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aztec Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-9 on Tuesday.

Independence saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus D'Agostino, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Yerba Buena, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Independence will face off against rival James Lick at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Yerba Buena is set to take on their familiar foe Silver Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
