 Cordova was the  12-6 winner over Southwind when they last played one another  back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Cordova Wolves'  tough  8-1 loss to the Southwind Jaguars  on Thursday might stick with them for a while. Cordova just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
 For Southwind's part,  Zachary Hall and  Tristian Shipp did most of the damage at the plate:  Hall  scored three  runs and  stole four bases while going 3-for-3, while  Shipp  scored two  runs while going 2-for-2. Hall is trending in the right direction, as he's  improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was  Stephen Simmons, who  went 2-for-3 with two  doubles and two  RBI.
 Cordova's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Southwind, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-13-1.
 Cordova is on the road again  on Tuesday to play Memphis Central at 5:30  p.m. As for Southwind, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairley at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Southwind is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 10  runs per game  this season.
